Waterloo Refight

Postby Tony Dillon » Sun Feb 28, 2010 10:44 am

I've spoken to the woman who books the hall at Earlswood and there are several Saturdays avaialable befor July that can be booked for the Waterloo refight. The dates are all Saturdays as follows.13th March,20th March.10th April,17th April,22nd May.29th May, 26th June.
To run the game successfully between 8 and 10 players will be required with some knowledge of the Napoleonic period, its tactics, formation etc. As you're aware I've bee running some practice games using the "In the Grand manner " ruleset for those who have shown interest so far.
Complete familiarity with the rules is not a requirement as I shall be umpiring and choreographing the game anyway.
If you're interested and available please let me know during the week.

Tony,

Do you want us to post up which dates we can do?

As you know, I'm up for it and I'll post dates as soon as I've checked my engagement diary :)

In terms of not knowing the rules, I'd suggest to anyone who hasn't tried the rules that theey really should try them before the game.

I'll be very honest and say I didn't really enjoy my first game because I hadn;t a clue what was going on or why certain things were happening.

Now I've got a grip of them, I have to say I like them and it gives a good game.

So if you are planning on playing in the game, I would certainly take Tony up on his offer to have a run through of the rules before hand.

Cheers
Mike
